Probably everyone watched the cartoon about a rat who loved to cook?
After watching, I really wanted to cook Ratatouille, but exactly the one that Remy prepared.
The recipes I met were not at all alike.
And so my husband found a recipe on an American website and translated it. I have changed a few things and I suggest you try ratatouille in this version.
From the specified amount of ingredients, 2 forms were obtained, such as in the photo.

  • 350 g bell pepper
  • 350 g tomatoes
  • 200 g onions
  • 2-3 sprigs of thyme (optional)
  • salt
  • vegetable oil


  • 500 g zucchini or squash
  • 500 g eggplant
  • 500 g tomatoes


  • 5 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • greens to taste
  • salt
  • pepper


  • balsamic vinegar


Cooking the sauce.
Put the pepper in a baking dish.
Put in the oven.
Bake at 180 degrees until the skin begins to blacken (about 30 minutes).

Put hot peppers in a plastic bag.
Cool down.

Pepper and peel, cut into cubes.

Finely chop the onion.

Peel the tomatoes, cut into cubes.

Fry the onion in vegetable oil.

Add pepper.

Fry for 2-3 minutes.

Add tomatoes.
Salt, pepper.
Fry until the sauce begins to thicken (about 5-7 minutes).

Transfer the sauce to a blender.


Add thyme leaves.

Put the sauce in the mold.

Cut the zucchini into very thin slices.

Cut the eggplants into thin slices (if the eggplants are bitter, salt them, leave for 30 minutes, then rinse in cold water, squeeze).

Cut the tomatoes into thin slices.

In the form, alternating, put eggplants, tomatoes, zucchini.

Finely chop the greens.

Finely chop the garlic.

Mix oil, herbs, garlic.

Salt, pepper.

Pour the dressing over the vegetables.

Cover the form with foil.
Put in the oven.
Bake at 180 degrees for an hour.

If desired, sprinkle vegetables with balsamic vinegar when serving.
