Soup with chicken, vegetables and dumplings with herbs

Very, very tasty soup! Dumplings with herbs give it a special taste..
You can use any greens, I really like dumplings with parsley.
You can add any vegetables to the soup, to taste.
Ingredients are listed in a 4 liter saucepan.

  • 1 kg chicken
  • 700 g potatoes
  • 150 g bell pepper
  • 150 g carrots
  • 150 g onions
  • 300 g tomatoes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • vegetable oil


  • 1 egg
  • 50 ml milk
  • 100 g flour
  • greens to taste
  • salt


Cut the chicken into pieces.

Put in a saucepan.
To fill with water.
Salt a little.
Cook for 45-50 minutes.

Finely chop the onion.

Grate the carrots on a medium grater.

Dice the tomatoes.

Pepper to clear from seeds.
Cut into cubes.

Fry the onion in vegetable oil.

Add carrots.

Peel potatoes.
Cut into cubes.

Cooking dumplings.
Finely chop the greens.

Beat the egg a little.

Add milk.

Add greens.

Add flour.
Salt a little.
The dumpling dough should not be liquid, but not thick either.

Add potatoes to the pot.
Cook for 5-7 minutes.

Add pepper.

Add tomatoes.

Add onions with carrots.
Cook until potatoes are tender.

Gather the dough with a teaspoon, dip in boiling broth.
The dumplings will swell during cooking, so you don’t need to make them too large.
I am typing ½ tsp test.
Cook for 5-7 minutes.
Top up if necessary.
