Honey cake “Bee”

Delicate cake with honey flavor.
It is advisable to use good, high-quality honey.
From the specified amount of ingredients, 6-8 servings are obtained.

  • 200 g honey
  • 5 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder (or 1 tsp baking soda)
  • 500-550 g flour


  • 500 g sour cream
  • 100-150 g sugar


Heat honey, stirring occasionally, until light brown.

Separate the whites from the yolks.
Grind the yolks with sugar.

Cool honey a little.
Add to the yolk mass.

Add flour and baking powder.
Knead the dough.

Whisk the whites into a foam.

Gently introduce proteins into the dough.

Put the dough in a layer of 0.5-1 cm in a greased mold (I have a mold with a diameter of 26 cm).
Put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Bake 3-4 cakes.

Prepare the cream.
Stir sour cream with sugar.

Grease the finished cake with cream.

Cover with a second cake layer.
Lubricate with cream.
So collect the whole cake.

Decorate the cake to your liking.
I smeared it with sour cream, adding a little turmeric to it (you can add yellow food coloring).
I cut out strips 2 cm wide from the foil, laid them in parallel on the cake, with an interval of 1 cm. Sprinkled with poppy seeds, removed the foil.
Put the cake in the refrigerator, let it soak for 6-7 hours.
