Meat balls stuffed with beans and onions

Delicious, soft, juicy balls with the most delicate filling.
Even those who don’t like beans should like these balls.
Canned beans can be used instead of boiled beans..
Rice or potatoes are ideal for garnish..
When serving, you can pour the side dish and balls with the sauce in which they were stewed.
From the specified amount of ingredients, 15-18 balls are obtained.

  • 100 g beans
  • 150 g onions
  • 500 g minced meat (I have pork + beef)
  • 1 egg
  • 700 g tomatoes in their own juice (or fresh)
  • 5-6 sprigs of thyme (or any greenery)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • vegetable oil


Soak beans in cold water for 3-4 hours.

Boil the beans until cooked (the cooking time is indicated on the package).

When the beans are ready, drain the water, cool the beans.
Grind in a blender (or mince).

Finely chop the onion.

Fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Mix beans and onions.
Salt, pepper.

Peel the tomatoes, chop in a blender (with juice).

Add an egg to the minced meat.
Salt, pepper.

Form a small cake from minced meat.

Lay out the filling.

Form a ball.

Place in a baking dish (in one or two layers).

Pour over tomatoes (they should cover the balls, if there is not enough tomato juice, add water).

Lay out the greens.
Place in the oven (do not cover with a lid).
Bake at 180 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
